Four people injured in head-on collision in Nappanee

At least one person had to be flown to a South Bend hospital after a two-vehicle wreck in Nappanee Wednesday afternoon.

The two cars collided head-on at around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of S.R. 19 and C.R. 52 near the Wa-Nee Community Schools administration building, according to the Elkhart Truth.

MedFlight airlifted at least one person with critical injuries from the scene. In total, three men and one woman had to be treated at area hospitals, Nappanee EMS Chief Jim Sumpter told the Elkhart Truth.

The Elkhart County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team is investigating.
