Moped driver dies after colliding with vehicle in South Bend

The driver of a moped died after colliding in front of a vehicle.

It happened at about 8 p.m. Thursday on State Road 23 between Edison and Ironwood.

Members of the Fatal Alcohol Crash Team determined that 74-year-old David Daut pulled out in front of the vehicle which was heading south. He died after being brought to the hospital.

The driver of the car was not injured.
