Mishawaka moped driver critically hurt after hit and run crash

A Mishawaka man suffered a severe brain injury after an SUV hit his moped, then sped away.

The crash happened at the intersection of Cedar and 3rd Streets at about 10:40 p.m. Monday.

Mishawaka Police say a “black, newer model” SUV pulled into the intersection the 54-year-old man was trying to turn in and hit the moped. The SUV left the scene.

No suspects have been identified. Police are looking for a black, newer model SUV with probable front end damage. If you know of a vehicle fitting this description, contact Mishawaka Police at 574-258-1678.
