Fight leads to shooting on Roger Street in South Bend

A 26-year-old man is recovering after being shot in South Bend.

Officers with the South Bend Police Department were called around 8:20 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, to the 2200 block of Roger Street on the report of a fight and possible shooting.

On arrival, officers found that the victim had already left the area and arrived at Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Officers contacted the occupants of a nearby home based off information provided to them. Those people were taken to the South Bend Police Department where they were interviewed by detectives and released.

The case is still under investigation and, as of early Sunday morning, there have been no arrests announced.
