LaPorte County Sheriff frustrated over three weekend drug overdoses

The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office is investigating three apparent-opiate related overdoses that occurred this past weekend, two of which left people dead.

Investigators with the drug task force believe that at least two of the cases may be connected.

30-year-old Mark Laskarin was found dead in a bedroom of a home in Union Mills on Saturday morning.

About 12 hours later, a 36-year-old woman was found unresponsive in a vehicle in Wanatah. She was revived with the use of Narcan and taken to the hospital.

Then, on Sunday morning, 29-year-old Robert Goldstein was found dead in the bedroom of a home in Hanna.

The LaPorte County Sheriff says he was frustrated that, despite the department’s efforts to remove drugs from the streets, that people are still losing their lives due to addiction.
