Six arrested, two taken into protective custody in Claypool drug raid

Six people are in custody and two children are in protective custody after a drug raid in Claypool.

It all started Friday night, when 20-year-old Zarre Fitzpatrick of Warsaw was pulled over at Hickory and Section streets in Claypool. He was charged with meth possession and other misdemeanors, but the Times-Union reports the investigation led Claypool officers to a home on the 200 block of West Section Street in Claypool.

After a stakeout, another traffic stop was done and the man arrested, 40-year-old Scott Powers, admitted he had about 28 grams of meth.

Police then raided the house and allegedly found various pipes and drug paraphernalia. A 17-year-old girl, a toddler, and an infant were also found. The 17-year-old, who will be charged with drug, neglect, and nuisance charges, stayed with a friend while the young children are in protective custody.

Three others were also arrested:

•Evelyn Ann Powers, 39, Claypool, arrested for maintaining a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia. Her bond was set $5,250.

•Shawnee Jean Smalley, 18, Claypool, arrested for maintaining a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia.

•Taylor Darnell Bradley, 18, Pierceton, arrested for visiting a common nuisance.
