South Bend police are investigating a string of armed robberies on the city’s east side…

Neighbors are expressing concern after several incidents where victims were robbed, with many of them mentioning seeing men with a weapon.

Several robberies were reported Wednesday night, according to WSBT, including a woman who was approached while talking on a cell phone at the corner of Ridgedale Ave. and Caroline St. in the Twyckenham Hills neighborhood. Her phone was stolen, one of many phones reported stolen by men with a gun throughout the east side that night.

The South Bend Tribune reports that there has also been an increase in armed robberies in the northeast side as the Notre Dame-USC football game approaches.

Police remind people to pay attention to their surroundings and not their phones when walking.
