A Mishawaka father who prosecutors say failed to take his children to the hospital after they were burned by lye has been arrested.

It was back in May that Stanley Siczek’s, 50, kids were injured by the chemical.

Siczek said he believed the boys had chewed on a glove with lye on it, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

After he washed the chemical off the boys, he said he didn’t take them to the hospital because he was afraid he would be given a drug test, ABC 57 reported.

The children’s grandmother took them to the hospital the next day.

Siczek’s one-year-old boy suffered burns to his eye and cheek. His 6-year-old boy was treated for burns to his chin, lip and mouth.
