South Shore Line to offer veterans & active duty military free rides

In recognition of the upcoming Veteran’s Day holiday, the South Shore Line will offer free rides for all veterans and active duty military personnel on Nov. 10 – 12

“We are honored to offer veterans and active duty military personnel (including reservists) free rides on the South Shore Line,” commented Nicole Barker, Director of Capital Investment and Implementation at the South Shore Line. “By welcoming them on the train for free, we hope to convey our gratitude for all they have done for our nation. It’s our way of thanking veterans for all they’ve done to keep our country safe.”

As our train personnel walk through the train, please let them know that you are a veteran or active military personnel, and we will provide you a ride at no charge. No identification will be required.

On Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 10, trains will follow the regular weekday train schedule.

Up to three children under 14 years of age may ride free with each veteran on off-peak weekday and all weekend trains.
