Three arrests made after two drug busts in Benton Harbor

Three people have been arrested on drug-related charges in two separate drug busts in Benton Harbor.

One of the arrestes took place on Wednesday, Nov. 1, at a home in the 400 block of Colfax Avenue.

Police executed a search warrant and seized several grams of crack-cocaine, heroin, a gun with ammo, and money.

Valari Shamone Hayes, 29, was charged with intent to deliver crack cocaine and heroin and several weapons charges.

On Monday, Nov. 6, officers issued another search warrant for a home in the 1100 block of Superior Street.

Inside, they found 80 grams of cocaine, along with crack cocaine, a stolen gun and more than $13,000 dollars.

The homeowners were interviewed and locked up in the Berrien County Jail on preliminary drug and firearms-related charges.
