Mishawaka man killed in crash on Old U.S. 33 in Elkhart

A Mishawaka man was killed in a crash on Old U.S. 33 in Elkhart.

The collision happened around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22 near La Rue Stret.

Malik Morgan, 46, was traveling eastbound when he pulled into the path of an oncoming semi, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.

Morgan was killed. The driver of the semi was taken to the hospital for treatment of shoulder pain.

Police have not yet determined why Morgan drove into the path of the rig.

Old U.S. 33 was closed for several hours while police investigated the crash.
