Power outage at Atlanta airport has ripple effect in South Bend

The impact of a power outage at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Sunday night was felt here in South Bend.

A total of seven Delta flights were affected because of the power outage. That includes four arriving flights and three departing. Six of those were canceled, with one arriving flight from Detroit being delayed.

WNDU reports that the outage affected around 300 passengers either leaving or arriving in South Bend. Ticket agents at the South Bend International Airport worked to find different flights for the affected passengers while others used the Delta app to find their way back on the air.

Others weren’t so lucky and had to stay either at the airport or at a South Bend hotel Sunday night.
