More than 450 meals were passed out to over 400 families in Michiana, just in time for the holidays, courtesy of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians.

It was a joint effort between the tribe and the Four Winds Casino, delivering holiday meals including ham, trimmings…even an apple pie for dessert.

A similar effort at Thanksgiving gave out more than a thousand meals.

The food was distributed through The Food Bank of Northern Indiana, helping families on both sides of the state line.

As an added bit of holiday cheer, the South Bend Adams Show Choir sang Christmas Carols as community members arrived to receive their baskets of food.
