No charges will be filed in a police-involved shooting in Knox this time last year.

William Newman was shot and killed on Dec. 21, 2016 when officers tried to serve a warrant for his arrest. Before he was shot, Indiana State Police say he tried to drive off, crashing through a garage, hitting a police car, and attempting to run over a police officer.

Officers shot and killed him.

State police say the matter is now closed, though Newman’s family told ABC 57 they’re considering further legal action.
