Two people were found dead inside a Goshen area home that caught fire.
The fire broke out at a home in the 22000 block of C.R. 45 shortly after 5 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 7.
A dozen police, fire, and ambulance units responded to the scene.
ABC 57’s Taylor Popielarz reporting from the scene stated that two body bags were removed from the house.
The Elkhart County Homicide Unit later confirmed that the bodies were “likely adults”, though their identities won’t likely be revealed until after autopsies are performed Monday. One victim was found in a bedroom, the other in a kitchen.
The cause of the fire is not known, but it’s believed the house is a total loss. Crews were on the scene for around 10 hours investigating.
A neighbor says an older woman and her adult son lived there for over two decades.
Just interviewed Concord Twp’s Fire Chief. After close to 10 hours on scene investigating, most of the crews have cleared out.
