Police in Mishawaka received a number of reports Sunday night and early Monday morning about a possible threat that was a hoax.

The threatening post on Snapchat and Facebook involved a photo of several firearms and the phrase “Don’t go to school tomorrow MHS students.” It was determined to be a hoax in the state of Virginia, where the MHS school in question is located. An arrest has been made by authorities there.

The post was misconstrued by some local residents in Mishawaka. Mishawaka Police stepped up their presence at the High School on Monday with extra patrolmen as a precautionary measure.
