Portillo’s fans, Chicago’s finest Italian beef is only two months away from arriving in Mishawaka.

March 19 is the date that the Chicagoland restaurant chain has set for opening its Mishawaka location, which is being constructed at its Main Street location north of Day Road. It’s a quick turnaround for the restaurant, which broke ground on October 20.

The former hhgregg location in the Indian Ridge Plaza on Grape Road is being used as a temporary hiring center for the restaurant, with in-person interviews available from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

It’s the third Indiana location for Portillo’s and the first outside of the Indianapolis region.
