A man was arrested after a 90-minute standoff with South Bend police Wednesday.

Police were called to a home on West Washington at about 6 p.m. Wednesday on a report of a domestic disturbance.

ABC 57 reports the victim informed police when they arrived that the suspect, Matthew Gonzales, was in an apartment. Gonzales reportedly refused to come out or even talk to police at the scene.

SWAT arrived 90 minutes later, at which point Gonzales reportedly walked out of the apartment and surrendered without incident.

He’s charged with strangulation, invasion of privacy and resisting arrest. He also had a warrant out of Berrien County.
