The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit is investigating a shooting in the Fremont Park area.

Officers with the South Bend Police Department were sent to the 1900 block of W. Fremont Street around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, on reports of shots fired through ShotSpotter.

Officers learned a victim was driven to the hospital. The 23-year-old male was listed in critical condition as of 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday night.

Poss. victim located at hospital. Officers and investigators still trying to determine what happened.
