Three people, including a child, were hurt in a crash on S.R. 2 in St. Joseph County.

It happened Friday morning near Chapel Lane. St. Joseph County Sheriff Bill Thompson told ABC 57 that one vehicle trying to cross S.R. 2 to go eastbound was hit by a westbound vehicle in the driver’s door.

Thompson says because there was “so much force in the crash,” two people were taken to the hospital. The driver of one of the vehicles had serious injuries while two others in the other car suffered minor injuries.

S.R. 2 was closed for a while Friday morning but it has since re-opened.
