What was originally scheduled as a bond reduction hearing ended up being a change of plea hearing for a former Times Union reporter.

Michael Anderson accepted a plea agreement. Under the agreement, he pleas guilty to a count of attempted sexual misconduct with a minor.

If the court accepts the plea, the other five counts Anderson faces will be dropped.

This means he could be sentenced to a maximum 2.5 years, with one year being served as probation.

The charges stem from Anderson’s alleged inappropriate chatting with minors on Facebook.

Sentencing will take place May 22.
