Mishawaka police officers attacked by pitbull, shot fired at dog

Tense moments for Mishawaka Police when some officers called to an apparent domestic dispute were attached by a pitbull.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, in the 500 block of East Grove Street, according to a tweet from Mishawaka Police.

The officers were allowed inside the home where they were attacked by the dog.

One officer was bit by the animal and one shot was fired, but the dog was not hit.

The officer who was bitten was not seriously injured.
