She took on the challenge to dance in high heels, but despite wow-ing the judges, Monday was the last dance for Notre Dame women’s basketball standout Arike Ogunbowale.

The star player was voted off Dancing With The Stars by viewers, despite high praise from the judge’s who called her performance poised, beautiful, vulnerable yet powerful.

The judges challenged her last week to wear heels after she took to the dance floor in sneakers. Ogunbowale said she accepted the challenge because she didn’t want to let them down.

Ogunbowale wasn’t the only contestant who left the dance floor on Monday night. NBA great Kareem Abdul-Jabaar was also eliminated.

Now, it’s back to a bit-more normacy for Ogunbowale who has been taking red-eye flights to and from campus to Hollywood as she’s juggled final exams and dancing.
