New Carlisle Fire Department gets new thermal cameras through donation

The New Carlisle Fire Department will be able to attack fires better thanks to Firehouse Subs.

The sandwich chain recently made a donation to the fire department so it can purchase three new thermal imaging cameras.

The cameras enable firefighters to detect body heat in burning buildings along with lingering hot spots that need to be addressed. The fire department’s assistant fire chief told ABC 57 that their existing cameras were over 10 years old and the sensors were starting to wear down.

Firehouse Subs made the donation through its public safety foundation that benefits first responders across the country.
