The second man who lured an unwitting Backpage.com customer to a hotel room, beat him, and then robbed him, has been sentenced in federal court.

20-year-old Andrew Jacobs of South Bend was sentenced to 84 months, or seven years, in prison followed by two years of supervised release. His accomplice, 20-year-old Lorenzo Crawford of South Bend, was sentenced last month to the same seven year prison term and two years of supervised release.

The two lured a man responding to a fake Backpage post for escort services to a South Bend hotel room, then proceeded to beat him when he arrived.

Cash, credit cards and a cell phone were taken from the victim, along with cash and items from the victim’s car.
