South Bend churches working together to add solar panels

Churches in South Bend are crossing denominational lines and coming together to work on a common goal.

The churches represent different religions, but each seeks to minimize their carbon footprint. WSBT reports that six churches were approached by Interfaith Power and Light about grants to add solar panels.

Two of the churches that have installed the panels and seen financial benefits are the Kern Road Mennonite Church and the Islamic Society of Michiana.

They encourage other churches in the area to do the same.
