Tim Corbett is not giving up his fight to be the next St. Joseph County Sheriff.
After all of the absentee votes were counted in the Democratic primary, Corbett still trailed Bill Redman by 14 votes.
Now, all votes will be recounted, starting with 40 random precincts. ABC 57’s Hayley Fixler reports that the 40 precincts will give the recount committee a good idea of where things stand, then they can meet again to determine whether to continue or not.
The court ruled to recount ALL precincts, but they want to just start with 40 before deciding to go through with the rest @ABC57News

The cost for the recount is $100 per day for each person appointed to recount the votes, which needs to be done by June 29th. Corbett will be paying the entire cost for the recount.
Machine voting rejects the ballots that are unclear or wrong. Voters have the choice to redo those votes or say no. Absentee ballots don’t do that @ABC57News

The winner of the recount will go up against Republican Paul Joans, a retired U.S. Marine, in the November election.
