A man is in jail after roughing up two Kroger store workers while trying to steal some merchandise.

It happened last week at the store on Ireland Road in South Bend. ABC 57 News reports James Dickerson grabbed a store clerk’s arm and shoved her when he left the lane without paying for his items.

Outside the store, police say he shoved another worker, as well as a bystander. Police caught up with him at the gas station.

He’s being held on a $4500 bond and is due back in court next week.
