You can no longer be a Toys R Us kid in Michiana.

The Mishawaka location on Grape Road closed for good at 9 p.m. Thursday. Babies R’ Us will close Friday night.

The Toys R Us chain is $5 billion in debt and wasn’t helped by the shift to online shopping. In response, Walmart and Target have pushed to improve their toy offerings to try and fill the void.

An auction for the Toys R Us brand, baby shower registry and trademarks is set for late July.
