Our earlier story…

Besides just being left out in the open, modern technology also helped lead officers to a stolen Wal-Mart trailer in Mishawaka this week.

A GPS tracker helped officers locate the stolen trailer at a home on Grape Road near Edison Lakes Parkway. Officers say that the red cab was seen on surveillance video backing up to the trailer at a Lansing, Illinois Wal-Mart, hooking up to the trailer, and driving off with over $100,000 worth of merchandise inside.

ABC 57 reports a person at the scene told police he bought the trailer online. The trailer was seen in plain view backed up to a detached garage at a home on Grape Road Monday.

26-year-old Josephvon Johnson of Jackson, Mississippi has now officially been charged with theft.
