Mishawaka man dies after train hits his car in Milford

A Mishawaka man is dead after a train hit his car in Kosciusko County Saturday.

Around 2:20 p.m. on Saturday, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s DeputiesMilford Police and emergency personnel were called to the railroad crossing on Kilmer Drive just south of Milford.

59-year-old Kevin Geisel of Mishawaka was driving his Toyota pickup and for an unknown reason, he collided with a Norfolk Southern train.

Geisel suffered from traumatic internal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office.

The crash is still under investigation.
