New Division Chief appointed for the South Bend Police Department

Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Chief of Police Scott Ruszkowski have announced the appointment of Tim Lancaster as the Support Division Chief for the South Bend Police Department.

“Division Chief Lancaster has proven himself to be a valuable asset to the police department as a professional and dedicated patrol captain. He has been deeply engaged in addressing community needs and concerns,” Buttigieg said. “I look forward to his continued service to the community.”

Lancaster is a 21-year veteran and most recently served as the afternoon Patrol Captain for the last two years. He has also served as a patrol officer, school resource officer, Special Victims Unit investigator and a patrol supervisor.

As the Support Division Chief, Lancaster will oversee the Investigations, Logistics and Records Bureaus.
