Police in Buchanan warning residents about telephone scam

Police in Buchanan are warning residents about a telephone scam.

This, after reports from people who have received a phone call with a 646 area code.

The scammers tell the callers about serious allegations that could result in their arrest by local police.

Buchanan Police say anybody who received a call like that should not give out any personal information and that they would never make contact over the telephone to inform anybody about a warrant or pending arrest.
