Man, 18, recovering after being stabbed on Western Avenue in South Bend

An 18-year-old man is recovering from a stab wound to the back.

Officers with the South Bend Police Department were called around 3:50 p.m. on Monday, July 30, to the 4400 block of W. Western Avenue where they found the victim.

He was taken to the hospital by medics where he was treated for the non-life-threatening injury.

The victim told officers he was in a physical fight with the suspect before the suspect grabbed a small knife and stabbed him. The suspect left the scene before officers arrived.
