Guilty. That’s the verdict in the case of an Elkhart teenager accused of killing a 34-year-old woman nearly two years ago.

After three hours of deliberations, the jury found D’Angelo Honorable guilty in the deadly shooting of Teketa Hixson, 34, in late 2016.

He fired four shots into her home following an argument with a teen girl who lived at the house, according to court documents.

Honorable’s attorney had asked a judge to throw out incriminating statements, arguing police violated the then 14-year-old’s constitutional rights by failing to ask if he understood his Miranda Rights.

Honorable is schedule to be sentenced on August 30.
