Mishawaka man found severely beaten near IUSB campus

South Bend police are investigating after a Mishawaka man was discovered with serious injuries near IUSB.

The victim, who was not a student, is listed in critical condition and very little is known about the nature of his “serious injuries.”

20-year-old Jacob Singleton was found unconscious near the campus on 20th Street, near a fire hydrant, around 3 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The University has issued a warning to all students in the wake of what appears to have been a very bloody attack, not far from the Campus Police station. Police patrols will increase as IUSB students get set to return to school in two weeks.

Anyone with information should contact Metro Homicide.
