South Bend Police responded to a report of a stabbing Monday morning.

It happened in the area of Portage Avenue and Bergen Street, just before 7 a.m. That’s on the city’s Northwest side, about one block east of the Marquette Primary Montessori Academy.

The victim, a 21 year-old male, was said to be alert and conscious and is in the hospital. No suspect information has been released.
