Parents of South Bend Schools students frustrated with buses

Parents of students in the South Bend Community School Corporation are speaking up about their concerns about transportation in the new school year.

As the school year began, there were more questions than answers for many parents. ABC 57 reports that some received bus assignments for their students that were incomplete, others received assignments for the wrong school…and some weren’t given a bus assignment at all.

Superintendent Dr. Kenneth Spells has said that part of the Focus 2018 Plan involved changes to the bus system that were intended to resolve the issues that have plagued the department. The corporation hired more drivers over the summer and changed some routes to try and solve the issues, and the schools are working to resolve the issues reported in the days before classes began.

Dr. spells shold have to stay at work until all the kids are home. No one it at south bend school corporation after 4pm not that they pick up or email back anyways. Transportation goes straight to voice mail. My sons principal had to go to argue to get my son a bus.somehow when they moved files they lost that my son exist. So now I can’t track his bus because they don’t know how or are just to lazy to fix it. So 5:30 my sons not home from school I have no way to know what going on its just stupid.
