Crews fight fire at metal recycling plant in Dowagiac

More than a half-dozen crews were called to fight a fire at a metal recycling plant in Dowagiac. The blaze broke out around 12 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 19, at SRI on Edwards Street.

Crews arrived to find thick smoke pouring from a scrap metal pile. It took more than 130-thosuand gallons of water to put out the flames, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

There were no injuries reported.
