Power outages, damage reported after overnight storms blow through Michiana

More than 2,400 Indiana Michigan Power customers were left without electricity after overnight storms pummeled portions of Michiana.

Storm damage was scattered across the region on Wednesday, Aug. 29, after the storm front moved through the area during the 1 a.m. hour.

I&M reported scattered outages in Southwest Michigan and North Central Indiana.

Elkhart County has isolated storm damage from what appeared to be microburst, including winds that topped 50 miles per hour, resulting in damage sustained an aluminum plant on County Road 10, according to WSBT.
