Elkhart Police: Missing man has been found and is back with family

UDPATE (5:30 p.m.): Richard Lane has been located and returned to his family, according to Elkhart Police.

ORIGINAL STORY (2 p.m.): Police in Elkhart are asking for help from the public in finding a missing man and has released the following information:

At around 10;40 a.m. on Monday, Sep. 3, officers were sent to the 1700 block of Kentucky Avenue on the report of a missing person.

The family of Richard Lane, 58, reported that he was last seen around 10 p.m. on Sunday night.

Lane has dementia and his relatives believe he left the home during the overnight hours.

Lane is described as white, 5’7” 135 pounds with blue eyes and brown greying hair.

Lane left in a 2016 silver Jeep Compass , with an unknown plate.

Anybody who has information regarding Lane’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Elkhart Police Department at 574-295-7070.
