Elkhart County Police again asking for public’s help after hit-and-run victim dies

A pedestrian who was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Elkhart County last month has died.

The collision happened around 11:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 28, on County Road 4 east of County Road 13.

The victim, Jacob Callaghan, 26, passed away on Sunday, Sep. 9.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department is, again, asking for anyone with information about the driver to step forward.

Evidence collected from the scene suggests that the vehicle in question will have damage to the driver’s side mirror.

Investigators are asking that if anyone has information concerning this crash, the vehicle in question, or the driver involved in this crash to contact the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department at 574-533-4151.
