Person killed in shooting on S. 10th Street in Elkhart

One person was killed in a shooting in the 1700 block of S. 10th Street in Elkhart.

Elkhart Police were called to the scene around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sep. 12, but the victim was taken to Elkhart General Hospital by an acquaintance.

The victim later died.

There were no arrests announced as of 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, but police say they do not believe residents in the area are in any danger as a result of this incident.

The case is under investigation by the Elkhart County Homicide Unit.
