Van Buren County officials confiscate pot plants worth thousands of dollars

The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department seized thousands of dollars worth of marijuana on Saturday, Sep. 22.

Acting on an anonymous tip, they responded to a grow operation on Territorial Road and 2nd Street in Keeler Township.

The deputies said they were able to see the tops of marijuana plants growing over the fence, and the homeowner admitted to the operation.

Five plants that measured between 7 and 9.5 feet tall valued at $5,000 were confiscated.

The homeowner and another woman are cooperating with the authorities.
