Standoff suspect surrenders peacefully to South Bend Police

A man surrendered to South Bend Police following a two-hour standoff.

It began around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sep. 25, at a home in the 100 block of Fox Street.

Zachary Smith threatened to harm himself and his grandmother, according to police, as reported by ABC 57.

Smith asked police for a pizza before he surrendered and while getting into the squad car.

Smith was booked into the St. Joseph County Jail.
