The U.S. House has passed legislation to combat the opioid epidemic, including provisions authored by 2nd District Representative Jackie Walorski and named in honor of Dr. Todd Graham.

Graham is the doctor who was prosecutors say was killed in 2017 by a man after refusing to prescribe opioids for the man’s wife.

The bill would improve access to non-opioid pain treatments.

The legislation which is meant to aid prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts is expected to reach the president’s desk for his signature in the coming days.
