A search for drugs results in the arrest of a person for attempted murder.

The South Bend Police Strategic Focus Unit and SWAT team, through the Group/Gang
Violence Intervention Strategy, conducted a narcotics search warrant in the 100 block of East Calvert on Friday, Oct. 5.

As a result of this warrant, police arrested Kahala Wright who was wanted on two charges of attempted murder, stemming from a shooting back in May in the 2000 block of South Miami Street.

As far as the search warrant, investigators say several people were inside the home, including many who they believe are behind some of the violence in the community.

Police also recovered a gun and narcotics inside the home.
