Two separate death investigations are underway in Elkhart.

The most recent case involves a 2-month-old baby. Police were called around 9:50 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, to Prairie Apartments in regard to the baby’s condition.

Officers and paramedics arrived on scene and provided medical attention. The baby was later pronounced dead at the scene.

That call came in a little more than 30 minutes after the other incident, when officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Waterfall at The Waterfall
high-rise, where a 46 year old woman was found dead.

The Elkhart County Homicide Unit, along with officers of the Elkhart City Police Department, are investigating both cases.
