Officers involved in arrest of suspect who died in police custody back to work

The two officers involved in an in-custody death case in Berrien Springs are back on patrol.

On Monday, Oct. 29, officers from the Berrien Springs-Oronoko Township Police Department and the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department were cleared to return to duty.

This comes after an investigation by the Michigan State Police.

The two were involved in the arrest of Jack Clement Lunneen, 51, who died of medical complications while in police custody in the early morning hours of October 22.

The incident remains under investigation.
