The South Bend Police Officer involved in the deadly crash that killed a young mother of two faces a disciplinary hearing this week.

The hearing for Officer Justin Gorny is set for Monday, Nov. 5, though it could take up to two weeks to learn if his job status will change.

Gorny, who was cleared of any criminal wrongdoing, was recommended for dismissal by the chief of police.

The crash in question killed Erica Flores at the intersection of Western Ave. and Kaley St. this past summer.
